RAVEN

Escapology (or the art of escape) is a rare and historical art form. It has been practiced for centuries but is now a dying art. Raven is one of the few female entertainers in the world to exhibit these miraculous skills.

Escapology was practiced in 19th century Britain by the fraudulent mediums of the victorian era. It was later imortalised by the great Harry Houdini and his brother Theo (who called himself Hardeen). It was popular because it epitomised the struggle to over come the financial depression that was crippling entire cities.

Now experience this thrilling art brought to life:

LAUGH as Raven demonstrates Houdini's 'Shanghai Shackles'.

GetAttachment2.JPGCRY as Raven relates the story of Tom Horn, a man wrongfully convicted of murder, followed by a demonstration of his walk to the gallows.

PARTICIPATE as Raven relies on members of the audience to restrain her with ropes, chains, handcuffs, straightjackets and other devices.

Raven WELCOMES audience member to supply THEIR OWN padlocks and handcuffs. These MUST be in proper working order and be supplied complete with keys!!!

UPDATE - Raven will be performing magic and escapology at the Kings Croft Hotel in Pontefract on Monday 25th August (event was formerly arranged for the 4th, but has been put back). The event is a fun day to raise money for the Prince of Wales Hospice.
